>free lecture from nobel laureate John Gurdon (guy who invented cloning) on uni
>broad audience as it's public
>is super cool, talks a bunch about how he was basically expelled from high school biology then went on to receive nobel prize
>lectures on groundbreaking cloning research, basically the diverse pool of histones in cell types are super important for repriming the DNA template
>20 minutes of questions
>some undergrad asks "what is a histone"
>some autist corrects Gurdon on saying "designed" instead of "evolved" lmao
>final question, some autistic german/chinese stands up in back rows, asking "have you considered the different energy states of the nucleus?"
>5 seconds of silence, nobody understands what's going on
>Gurdon answers something along the line of "y-yeah, energy is important"
>dude apparently thought he was talking about atomic nuclei and not cellular nuclei the whole time
>kept blabbering for 2 minutes, someone had to say 'yeah, lets move on to another question'

What an inspirational guy tho, Gurdon. If you have the chance, go see his talks.
