Why do most scientists I know get angry when you, also a scientist+engineer, research technology instead of “science”?

It’s like they’re obsessed with getting some new and obscure result that no one cares about. When you show off your tech advances they’re like WOW OKAY BUD WHERES THE SCIENCE WHERES THE DISCOVERY HUH

Even if said tech advances are objectively useful and gain attention, the pure scientists only care about obscure novelty. More obscure and useless the bettter.

>Then you notice only the most simple, braindead patterns which lack any nuance or contextualization. All instances of your pattern have explanations rooted in historical concerns and sociopolitics. Meanwhile, California is doing fine.
