I'm an Engineering student and I asked a while ago to help me find good books on Logic. Some anon helped me a lot and I read his recommendations. I want to thank whoever that was for that, it was very nice to read.

Now I'm getting into Albert Menne's Introduction to Logic. It's really interesting how you could read up a lot on really basic logic books and still get something out of them.
So yeah, really cozy, thanks anon.

>Undergrads bragging about their major and degrading others
>Not realising interdisciplinarity is at the heart of innovation and serendipity

Although some fields are more worthy according to someones scale, no amount of knowledge is unworthy. Many concepts and ideas can be integrated into other, more formal knowledge structures. I've learned quite a lot from theory of art and design and I keep using it in my job as an Engineer.

Why make hierarchies of knowledge when any knowledge can be used to profoundly impact your life? I'll better die a polymath than a bitter expert, full of an unfounded sense of self worth. Have a nice day.

Hello /sci/.

I'm a game designer, and I'm making a game set in space. I was wondering if there's any general changes in quality you get as a planet gets closer to or further away from the sun? Stuff like temperature, composition, size, etc.

How do I know if I'm fit for and would enjoy pure mathematics? I need to choose whether to go into Engineering or pure math, and I don't know which one I'd like better.

Now, I was decently good at both, straight A's in Calculus, yadda yadda, but I know that's not any indicator of preference or even natural skill in pure math. I would like some sort of introduction to it, to know if I'd like it, and whether I would be any good at it.

If there's any confusion, ask away, but I doubt I'm the only one who's wondering this.

one the flipside, i very very rarely cum when fucking a woman. it feels amazing and i love it, but i almost never cum.

>evidence of absence is not the absence of evidence
A lot of people should think about that.. You are completely right sir. People just obsess over the fact that there is not an answer to every single question they have.. or they aren't asking the right person/resource. Which leaves them believe that if a question can not be answered it must be false. Stupid logic I must say and it is quite annoying.

Well that is exactly my point. I don't want some rubbish that is designed to just sell. Trust me I've watched plenty of pop-sci movies/documentaries and they all just give you vague descriptions and absurdly diluted analogies that offer no real incite on how the "subject" works. Which is exactly what those books will get me. I want to able to understand it on my own.. so that I may apply what I know. I know if I decide to go to school I will have to take everything over or simply review what I have personally studied.. but that effort will increase my understanding both through self exploration of the subject and being taught formally.

What will it take to revive a dead person that died from a cardiac arrest or in any other way such that his body is still in good shape?

Will we in say 30/40 years be capable of reviving dead people?

Well that was easy.

Are you like, completely ignorant of human history? You seem to forget that specialization is what brought us out of the caves; it's what allowed us to farm, invent, and design.

Specialization is the best thing on the planet right now. Why? Because those that are not useful fall through the cracks and their genes die out (in a perfect society) If you think that not having some empirical proof of your knowledge on a subject is useless you don't know anything about modern society. Where is your credibility? Your credentials? Who's going to trust someone who just tells them "I know differential equations" Not every company is going to want to give you a math test before they hire you. This is what college is for.

>Basically the air pump circulates air from the enclosure through a series of algae water filled 2 litre soda bottles, where airstones dissolve the air into the water so the algae can remove the CO2 and replace it with oxygen. It's then forced into the next bottle where the process is repeated, and so on. I call it the Human Centipede principle of life support. Patent pending.
