Calculus is really easy assuming you have a firm grasp of the foundations. If you don't grasp distributive property / factoring, exponents, have trouble graphing basic functions, etc...you're gonna have a bad time.

Also, AP Calculus is easy because it's focused on algorithms to compute shit, and not so much on why they work, as you'd get from Real Analysis or a more rigorous textbook like Spivak. So it's not that the subject itself is easy, but that you're getting a rather superficial overview of something that goes deeper.
