I do you one better:
We had to do an exercise in physicsclass and before we did it we had to make an guess. I saw that the answer was between 21 and 22 so I said 21.5.

Moron deduced a point because 21.5 was the actual answer and I could never have guessed that beforehand.

hey guys,
been cruising through this domain/range chapter pretty smoothly, but i've come to a standstill.

I'm really confused regarding these certain questions about finding the domain and range.
if you could have a go i'd really appreciate it.

also what does the graph look like?

The feasibility of this in this at present day is just too low. But keep dreaming, we need dreamers.

Hello guys!
I'm trying to figure out something but I can't conclude, would you be kind enough to give me a hint or to help me?

There's the problem: we define <span class="math"> x_n
as the unique positive solution of <span class="math">x^n+x=1
I was asked to show that<span class="math"> x_n \rightarrow 1
, which is done.
Then I want to find an equivalent of <span class="math">\epsilon=1-x_n
So I started like this (I'll write <span class="math">x
instead of <span class="math">x_n
)
<span class="math">x^n=1-x
=> <span class="math">n ln(x) = ln(1-x)
=><span class="math">n= \frac{ln(1-x)}{ln(x)}= \frac{ln(1-x)}{ ln(1-(1-x))}
so <span class="math">n \sim \frac{-ln(1-x)}{(1-x)} = \frac{ln(\frac{1}{\epsilon})}{\epsilon}
Now, if I use sitrling's formula with Int(1/epsilon) (equivalent to 1/epsilon anyway), I end up with
ln( Int(1/epsilon) ! ) ~ n
Now how do I find the actual equivalent for epsilon? Am I even doing it right?
Thanks for any help you could provide me with!
