Set [math]y=x+7[/math] for general convenience.
When [math]y \geq 0[/math], we have
[eqn]\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} y^{n-1} \leq \sum_{n=1}^{\infty} (2+ (-1)^n)y^{n-1} \leq \sum_{n=1}^{\infty} 3 y^{n-1} = 3 \sum_{n=1}^{\infty} y^{n-1} [/eqn]
So the radius is [math]1[/math].
