They are to the science/religion debate what the Koch Brothers, Heartland Institute and others like them are to climate change. Although officially the Templeton Foundation seems to deny that too. False. The first two paragraphs of Genesis define what a day is by distinguishing it from night and specifying that the evening and morning of the first day followed. Literal days have mornings and evenings, figurative 'periods of time' do not, therefor the day/age translation apologetic is invalid. Additionally the Genesis account specifies that the Earth existed prior to the sun, the sun prior to other stars, water prior to land and birds prior to land animals. Any attempt to explain these errors away by claiming the entirety of Genesis is a metaphor falls flat because nothing is metaphorically communicated by blatantly getting the order of cosmological development wrong. It is more parsimoniously explained by the Torah having been written in an age of comparative scientific ignorance and without divine guidance that could have compensated for it.

Ergo, it is possible to disprove the judeo-christian-islamic god and any other gods whose foundational holy texts contain core doctrinal claims that are falsifiable and have been falsified.
