you're confused with the boy/girl paradox, but in that circumstance the condition is 'AT LEAST one of them is a boy', in which case it's either 1/2, if you established this by looking at 1 child, or 1/3, if you established it by looking at both.

in this circumstance it's either 1/2 if you're looking at one coin and hence determining that 'one is a heads', or you're looking at both to determine that 'one is a heads', in which case the probability that both are heads is 0.
