Just got a 250 on my amboss free assessment. Not taking step for another couple months. I’ve been thinking about anesthesia or EM but if I’m able to score this high, what else should I be thinking about? I have the life background for orthopedics (sports, tall, white).

Is it worthwhile for people with a bachelor of science in fields like chemistry, biochemistry, and neuroscience to try and enter industry upon graduation? Is a graduate degree (Msc. or PhD) typically necessary to develop meaningful career progression? I don't wish to slave away in academia if not required, but am willing to do that if it's necessary.

What is the best approach for understanding the stat-of-the-art of a certain field? Going straight to reading papers and surveys, or starting by studying the fundamentals from books?
