3 + 6 = 9

3/3 + 6/6 = 9/9

9/9 = 1

0.333 + 0.666 = 0.999 = 1

What's wrong here?

Since 0.99999999... = 9/10 + 9/100 + 9/1000 + ... = 1.0, I suppose a "god" of some sort could theoretically exist using a similar approach.

Imagine a "god of weather prediction".

If a predictive model for weather approaches 100% accuracy infinitely,
then it's essentially 100%.

Sometimes I wonder if the atom is also made up using the same concept.
I imagine an infinitely amount of subatomic particles being still generated,
each being slightly smaller to make an awesome whole atom.

I also imagine that a humanly god is possible if there's an infinite amount
of evolution (love) that makes the each generation of human kind even closer
to perfection. For us, that means that god is love.

So if we divide a number for example a/b
then a/b*b=a

So what if we divide 1 by 100

we get 0.01

0.01*100 = 1

0.01+0.01+0.01...x100 = 1
now we substract 0.01
0.01...+ 0.01 x99 = 0.99

what if we make the number we divide by bigger?

1/10^100

then we get something like

0.000...1

Shouldn't still 0.000...1*10^100=1?

so 0.000...1+0.000...1 x10^100 = 1

now again we substract

0.000...1 + 0.000...11 x(10^100-1) = 0.999....

BUT!

isn't 0.999... = 1?

so then

0.000...1 + 0.000...1 x (10^100-1) = 1 ?
and 0.000...1 + 0.00...1 x 10^100 = 0.000...1 + 0.00...1 x (10^100-1)
but wouldn't that be false?
Are you saying 0.000...1 = 0?
but then 1/10^100 = 0 and 1/10^100*10^100=0 and not 1

I am legitimately confused.

So I'm ready to accept that 0.999... = 1. I will believe you when you tell me that because obviously, even if I don't understand it, it's true. It can be proven mathematically and is a fact - my belief in whether or not it's correct is not relevant because it is evidently correct.

My question is: how? I've been Googling this shit for a while and I still don't understand how 0.999... and 1 represent the same quantity. I've read all the proofs and I'm not arguing with them, so don't try and force feed me proofs. I want to understand on a conceptual level.

I understand that because the .9s continue on infinitely the number 0.9 is infinitely large, but the 0.9 at the start sets a limit on how large it can be, doesn't it? It will simply get larger in infinitely smaller chunks - i.e. the argument that because the 0.9s continue infinitely 0.9 will eventually become 1 doesn't make sense to me, because it will become infinitely large in infinitely smaller ways so that it can never become 1.

Please explain. This is not bait.
