For someone who doesn't know Calculus, assuming that they have a strong foundation on all the basics, what is the best textbook to go through to learn Real Analysis? I want to get into Big Boy Maths from a pure and more rigorous way and I remember a thread a while back where anons were talking about not having to do the whole Calculus thing and instead just learning Real Analysis.

Because the algebra you learn in high school and beforehand is really not pure algebra, but a hollow shell of it in which you gain an understanding of binary operations and general arithmetic abstracted with the inclusion of “variables.”

Algebra is the study of structure, so basic algebra outlines the basic structures. These structures; sets, groups, rings, fields, etc., are all simple topics. However, they exist in the domain of “advanced mathematics” solely because we would otherwise have no intuition for what they mean if we had not previously extrapolated upon the meaning and use of elemtary operations, which takes a significant amount of time for brainlets.

Why do people study complex analysis? Isn't analysis in finite dimensional normed vector spaces more general?
I'm asking this question because I have seen a second year analysis book from belgium, and since they study this, and didn't study complex analysis in first year, do they [need] to study complex analysis at all?
