Hello, /sci/. I am completely ignorant. I regularly have no idea what the hell you guys are talking about, but I come here and lurk anyway, trying to understand.
I'd really like to understand. How can I go about learning more of your maths/sciences?
I'm a first year college student, so I've got resources, but I have no clue where to begin.

This is an idiot's cry for help.

Ok honestly OP? Its simple.

To cause mutations to adapt to various environments, you need two things.

Radiation from the Sun
Death

If these "immortal" organisms never died, there would be no way for them to change themselves and adapt.

Also, atoms decay, thats what they do.
