The gravity shouldn't affect it as long as its hovering due to a superconductor magnet, or more realistically, it is inside of a gyroscope.

On this:

reddit thread somebody said that the effects of gyroscopic precession and angular momentum can be derived from linear motion. Is this true'and if it is, anybody care to explain?

"Gravity" is having the same angular momentum as a object falling and rotating in space.

So gravity would be defined as the effect of falling back into the angular momentum you had before you used force to get away.

This is why "gravity" wont work over long distances, since you brake the angular momentum your attached to.

Hey /sci/, can someone please explain to me how and why gyroscopes work? Thanks.

Neurofags': How does one identify and isolate a chemical compound in the body? For example, there is a pheromone in human sweat which instills fear in any nearby people. How would one go about identifying and isolating this pheromone?

Quick question. In outer space, an object's angular displacement can be adjusted without ejecting any propellant by using a control moment gyroscope instead, right?

So it's possible for angular momentum to be conserved before and after the action, whereas angular displacement is not conserved?
