lots of good advice itt. i'll chip in my two cents as well.

- sit in the front row. write notes in every class.
<span class="math">\longrightarrow[/spoiler] like others have said, just be sure to understand it as soon as it's spoken. ask questions like hell if you have to. just don't leave until you get it intuitively.

- make a first impression on the instructor

- learn to manage your fucken time

- keep up with important dates

- make friends with people; pursue relationships. you won't regret it

how to get (and maintain) a 4.0 in college/university:

- sit in the front row
- learn it the first time; ask questions until you understand it. you should not leave the classroom until you understand what just happened
- make a first impression with the instructor very early in the semester. fun fact: having a good relationship with the instructor is what kept me on president's list last semester
- write down what the instructor writes down. pick out the important stuff and study it more. the intricacies come second
- use any and all resources that could potentially increase your grade
- learn to pick up on how the professor emphasizes certain things. some instructors flat out say "you might want to remember this." others are more subtle
- after the first exam, compare your notes with the questions from the exam. what did you do good? what'd you fuck up? by third exam/final you should be a master of anticipating their questions.

optional but encouraged: become friends with someone who can get adderall

basically you just don't be a moron. all of this is common sense.

you did not quantitatively specify my question; i asked for the precise material in which you feel is unintuitive.

I've never taken a Calc course before, but last night I used Khan Academy to teach myself definite and indefinite integrals. You should check the Calculus playlist out, OP.

Just curious though; you say you're in Calc II, but you're not fluent in integrals and derivatives. Are you in HS?

i just wanted to voice my opinion that whatever mod is "warning" people for trolling has a ridiculous approach to cleaning up this board. if you want to warn someone for blatant trolling, where do you draw the line from blatant to subtle? a lot of things in this thread are wrong, but you didn't warn them for spreading malicious truths. are you researching every post to verify its validity? no? then why should you warn those who make retarded posts? if anything, they offer more view points for one to make an opinion about the subject at hand. however stupid they are, they play the devil's advocate and anyone with half a brain can realize that.

you probably won't read this. but i just wanted to share my opinion about trolling on /sci/.

(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST)

I need some lectures or otherwise informative audio clips/books that I can listen to while I spend time walking or driving. A wide variety of subjects and suggestions are enthusiastically accepted. Anything from cosmology to economics, leisure skills to the purely educational; essentially, anything that teaches me something new that will keep me interested while I'm otherwise busy with the mundane parts of my day.

Any recommendations?
