Dear /sci/
A couple of months ago, I had acupuncture for my jaw (I have TMJ and the pain will not go away no mater what I do). So about 5 minutes into it, I start to see these colors. They were similar to the colors that one might one see when they close there eyes to go to sleep, except a lot more vivid and my eyes were open. I noticed the colors were undulating and changing to the rhythm of the ambient music in the room. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
Originally I just attributed it as a side affect of acupuncture, as it was my first time ever having acupuncture before, but now I'm not so sure. Could I have been experiencing some form of temporary synesthesia? Is such a thing possible?

Tl;dr Is it possible to temporarily experience synesthesia?

Don't know if this is the right place for this, but I need to get my friend a book, and she's getting into philosophy, more specifically, Existentialism. What are good beginner Existential books? Something by Nietzsche perhaps?
