Just found out I didn't say my first words until i was 2 years old...

My parents just told me that. It scares me. I don't want to face the fact or even question it because I'm afraid I might find out something is wrong with me. They claimed it's because we moved country to country every few months and spoke different languages. Sounds like a load of horseshit to me. I believe they're lying to themselves. Could it be possible that I'm undiagnosed? Could I possibly have...gulp*...autism?

Well, put yourself in my shoes for a second you live your life thinking you're normal and you hear something like this. Before hearing this grim news you knew that autistic people were "special". And that you obviously wouldn't want to be one of these people.

I think I don't suffer from any social retardation. Because I obviously understand the position autistic people are in and feel empathetic towards them. And understanding these social intricacies I know that being one of them would pretty much destroy my whole outlook on my life.

I'm in complete disarray right now. I admit I've had a little anxiety attack over this. Confronting it and writing this is really hard, but I feel I can only ask the internet about this before I seek professional advice. :( but right now I feel that ignorance is truly bliss.

So, what should I do?
