Can we get some more of these pictures? Basically just /sci/ related stuff. I'll do my best.

Protip: scales that aren't retarded give a unit of force.

For example, a pound is actually a unit of force, like Newtons.

If your scale is giving you a unit of mass, they're lying.

afternoon /sci/

for the past week or so, I keep waking up about halfway through my sleep (after about 4 hours, then sleep for another 4 or 5) with what feels like really bad hunger pains.
this lasts about 10 minutes at which point I just go back to sleep.
Halp? Anyone know what could be causing this?

how does evolution work. i mean. first life ever right- how the fuck do you just "grow" lenses in your eyes, or legs, or more particularly defenses such as thorns and spines.

surely if you're eaten you cant decide to have offspring that has them.

tell me /sci/mon

In the wild, evolution typically involves the ability for certain genetic groups to avoid predators, fight disease, and adapt to their environment.

In human civilization, however, predators are essentially a non-factor, the environment is normalized (read: we have heated homes) and diseases are treated and fought with medical science.

This is NOT to say humans aren't evolving!! As long as some people have more children than other people for any genetic reason whatsoever, then evolution is still in play.

What does this mean for human evolution? Genes that improve fertility and sexual attractiveness will inevitably dominate.

Hey /sci/ I was doing a lab in school where I wrapped copper around zinc and placed it into hydrochloric acid. Apart from the gas released, I noticed that bubbles were forming around the copper wire and it was also darkening in some of the areas, mostly where it was touching the zinc.
Yes this is for my report, but I don't see what's wrong with that, considering this is a science thread and I'm learning about science.

A TEST OF YOUR MIGHT:
Place the following in order:
-mitosis
-rapid growth
-preparation for division
-growth and DNA replication

First to answer correctly gets +5 /sci/might(hence the test of might) points
