This is just cope for people who are upset they'll never get their name in a text book. Science fiction is what drives people to become scientists these days. Art imitates life, and life imitates art.

However with that said, leonardo da vinci was an inspiration to me when I was younger. The way he could meld science and art and create something that's both more beautiful and scientifically useful than the sum of it's parts was awe inspiring. I wish more scientists today respected art and creativity as much as they respect science.
