The Senate bill has a lot of support (especially with Gordon and the former House bill advocates now backing it) but it's gonna be a close one.

Every vote counts!

So it sounds like the bill's going to go before the House under a suspension of the rules. That means it's going to need a 2/3rds vote to pass.

While having former advocates of the House bill now backing the Senate bill will go a long way to helping it pass, if you want to help make sure it passes you can help by calling your congressman and telling them to vote YES on the senate bill tomorrow.

If that's true than we need more TN and FL anons calling Gordon and Nelson... try to convince them to come to SOME kind of compromise. And at the very least the rest of us can keep calling our reps and convince them to put pressure on Gordon and Nelson

If something isn't passed, it'll be disastrous for NASA and for private space.

Fact check, both bills increase NASA funding by about $6 billion.
The $2.6 billion and $150 million figures are for commercial and COTS funding for the senate and house bills (respectfully)
Commercial funding, launch vehicle plans, and long term goals seem to be the big differences between the two bills.

I'm not disputing that that's the point of most sci fi stories involving cloning/replicants/what have you.
My point is simply that cloning isn't what those stories are about, but rather the issues raised by it.

There's also the case of Gerty, whose compassion and self sacrifice for Sam apparently make him human enough (at least in Sam's eyes) to warrant being 'kick-me'-free.
