Same thing happened to me, not with the same pic, but with the mere idea of the Universe when I was 5 or 6.
That's why I'm fine doing nothing all day. In a way, it's liberating, you realise you're nothing and the only thing you can do is to mind your business and find peace. Or get rich, fuck bitches and drive sports cars.
Simple as

Also what's more annoying is that for theta = 90, I think it would again be the exact stress, not 0 (complementary shear), hence sin instead of cos would be valid

Take solace in the fact that, even though your actions are predetermined by the Newtonian world-machine, neither you nor anyone else has the knowledge necessary to actually predict things you do. If YOU don't know, it's all random to you.

Or maybe understand that the alternative to predetermination is an element of unpredictableness--randomness--that supercedes your thought process.

If you're unpredictable through randomness, you're even less of a "self" than you are in determinism, since you don't even have the APPEARANCE of control.

tl;dr if it's determined you're just a cog, if it's not predetermined you're beyond your own control

I think part of the problem is that mathematics education in the US public school system is really poor. In addition I'm sure a lot of people look at it and say when will I ever use geometry in my life? It is true that a majority of people don't us math in their life outside of basic arithmetic or very simple algebra.

Also they probably don't care. I can't really blame them for that to be honest.
