I know exactly what evolution is.

A theory made up by those who support the New World Order in an attempt to get rid of Christianity.

If you believe that we are just slime, then you will believe that things like the holocaust are okay because it's just the next step in evolution.

some form of passive eugenics was implemented in almost all ancient civilizations.
The Romans made it a civic duty for their aristocracy and upper class to have more children than the others.
The Greeks would put to death weak and infirm children.
The Persians implemented a caste system, similar to the indians, based not only on occupation but genetic heritage.
The Chinese for a time had a strict economic hierarchy and at times forbid certain marriages.

How long will we have to wait until it's socially acceptable to talk about eugenics again? There's no doubt it's the better for mankind.

How does /sci/ feel about eugenics?

Personally, I don't have a problem with eugenics itself. However, I do anticipate one major problem.
Today, people born into poverty resent it. They resent the system and the government that appears to be against them. Breaking out of poverty requires a certain cooperation with the system, so for a lot of reasons that doesn't happen. Long story short, the poor stay poor, and the rich get educations and stay rich.

I imagine the same thing would occur if eugenics became widespread. Designer children - smarter, less prone to disease, etc - would be expensive. Only people intelligent or fortunate enough to be quite wealthy could afford it, and in turn they would produce children with a big advantage of the rest of society.

Eugenics was viewed as a legitimate science until everyone associated it with nazis

What is /sci/'s view on eugenics?
