hi /sci/, i've already read the sticky but...

>what are the best science-related (no-technical) books ?

Thanks.

>not using the most powerful telescopes to look back into the past
>still not extreme ultra super deep field to look back before the Big Bang

Seriously, why aren't scientist doing this? Are our telescopes too weak?

Hey guys,

I have a really hard time understanding the expansion of space. I can understand how all galaxies move apart, but does the expansion of space also "pull" on the particles themselves?

First time /sci/ user here and I just have one question. What was the mechanism for the big bang? Why did it all of a sudden start to expand? If we don't know what are your theories on why it did.

then nearly 14 billion years ago, expansion started

To the Moderators of 4chan: /sci/

I'd like to apologize.

However, I would also like to appeal the decision to ban my ip based on the claim that "Advertising is not welcome".

I care about /sci/ an awful lot, I contribute to threads in a positive way, help with discussions, math problems, etc... and have never once been considered a troll. I believe I should be unbanned and allowed to continue making threads like the one in question.

The OP of the thread could be argued to be a soft advertisement suggesting people to join the already thriving /sci/ community in the Synchtube room. However, the mass of the thread has been designated as an area of which to document the videos played and enjoyed by the /sci/ members. No links are ever found in the body of the thread.

A large number of people are introduced to /sci/ just by finding the room. People in the thread continually discuss threads in /sci/ and are glad they have a place to socialize outside of the formal arena of an image board.

I would suggest to whom it concerns that if urls containing "Synchtube" in them are banned, urls containing "Youtube" and indeed any other video streaming service be banned as well. I do not personally benefit from having a large number of people in the channel other than the fact that it stimulates conversation, and appreciate their interest in matters directly relating to /sci/.

Thank you for your time and consideration

-Richard

Why does the universe expand only in one direction, instead of all around the bang itself?

What came before the universe? How is it possible for anything to exist if they consist of other things?
