>mixture is applied as a water based suspension to kaolin base
>it settles out so the sample bottle needs vigorous shaking for homogenization
>lid is loose because threads are clogged with dried solution
>fail to notice this and shake anyway
>lid pops off
>am now drenched head to toe in sample

Learned to always hold the lid on securely when shaking something from that incident.
