Why do otherwise intelligent and rational people buy into this whole singularity shit?

The idea that the curve of technological advance is going to get to a point where it explodes exponentially is just ridiculous because it fails to take into account ANY OTHER FACTORS. Factors that the upgrade from wooden trough to iron trough didn't really have to worry about, like, limitations of physics. No one who talks about it dares even suggest that the holy day (and it is treated religiously) when technological advance is indistinguishable from magic isn't just around the corner, just as soon as we get past the curve on that totally scientific chart I made. Let's not consider that there are human limitations to the amount of data we can quickly and reasonably process and then act upon, nor a limit to the amount of people involved in this process.

As women are becoming more equal in society, will gender roles start to go away? Or will women always be considered the fairer sex? Will men always be considered the protective ones? Will women stereotypically have interests in things like clothes, makeup etc?

There's nothing wrong with homosexuality but I don't see why we have to stuff it into every facet of life. When you put a gay character in a cartoon you are emphasizing sexuality. That doesn't need to happen in a kids' show.

Why do we procrastinate? There really seems to be nothing logical about it. It's like we think the work will just go away.

In fact, testing of military aircraft can probably be attributed to 95% of the "ufo" sightings in history. Molar mass tells you nothing about what the pH of a solution will be.
You need to know its pKa or pKb, and how much solute is being put in how much solvent, as well as what other chemicals are being put with it.
