>It's another episode of /sci/ falling for the Great Man Theory.
It's possible to appreciate the contribution of an individual without deifying him. Repeat this to yourself 100 times. Do it now.
No single man drives history. Reality is a complex network of interests between multiple competing groups. No single person is in control of history. You are not a conspiracy nut. You are in /sci/. You can do better than this.

So the verdict is:
>Elon Musk is making important contributions to technology, mostly in the electrical car and space exploration realm. Arguably many of these are not necessarily his creations, but he has a good sales acumen and good charisma for exploiting geeky space travel and I FUCKING LOVE TECH nerds.
>Most of his other projects are not as good/straight up failures, but this is consistent with the fact that reality is not a one variable problem and he is not an uber genius, as discussed. This shouldn't be a problem unless you deify him.

Hopefully by now you can appreciate his contributions, whatever they may be, and not deify him. Go ahead and do that for every single other figure you believe shaped history alone.
