Somebody explain this to me. I have noted before that when you shift one of the roots of a parabola, the parabola seems to shift along a parabolic path. What I mean is, if you move the A slider around, the vertex of f(x) seemed to trace out the graph of a parabolic function. I took an educated guess and came up with g(x) and that is exactly the pattern the vertex of f(x) follows.

Why is this?
