Pic related stolen from Wikipedia. Presuming you have chrysotile asbestos and provided you fully react the stuff and filter out the forsterite (which is harmless but crunchy) you should have some perfectly potable water. The reactions for the other asbestos minerals should be relatively similar with probably similarly benign mineral products, basic sillicates or feldspars would be my guess.
