Yeah. Stop being so melodramatic. You've gone to college right out of high school and you're actually motivated to do well, which is far more than most people can say for themselves. The trick later on will be not getting bored to death with the subject before you finish the degree. Try to find a subject that you can imagine yourself still being interested in when you're an old hag.

-hello /sci/!

So this book show a pattern (n-elements) and you must generate a function(n) in order to get the correct value in that position.

5, 9, 14, 21, 31, ...

So far

5, 9, 14, 21, 31,...
+4 +5 +7 +10
+1 +2 +3

But expressing it in summation is cheating.

So far I have

f(n) = 0.5*(n^2-n)+4
which generates the second pattern but cant figure our how to generate the original pattern.

how do you usually solve this kind of problems?

Probe that X it is divisible by three for each integer value of N

X = 4^N - 1 if N >= 1

>seems it is true so far

I don't know if you're aware of this, but most pure-breed dogs are prone to a LOT of genetic defects.
My sister had a Pomeranian before, and it was born with only one testicle. I looked it up one time, and apparently that's a common defect among Pomeranians. Other breeds have their own kinds of defects as well that are common to them.
