Been on Ritalin for a decade is there a better way or am I fucked for life? Went off the meds for 4 months and nothing changed I just can' t focus on anything for more then 20 minutes but besides that I am the same

So I have to choose between being constantly anxious but productive or a spaz that gets nothing done and goes on 4chan all day

When I am off the meds I am happier and less anxiety but I also can't focus on anything to save my life

Is it even possible to live a fulfilling life as a pure mathematics mathematician? It's lonely as fuck and at most you are just contributing to something that nobody really cares about and will never be used in the real work (most likely). How do these mathematicians manage to go on for so long without feeling suicidal?
