It seems to typically follow pic related, sometimes is to two step: It's not happening -> it is and its a good thing. Simply said; deny -> justify.

Where I have seen and most it talking about Mass Migration aka White_Genocide/The_Great_Replacement, (which is where this screenshot comes from) but it i've seen it generally where ever and when ever someone is in denial, Climate Change and Homosexuality as examples, output the same reaction.

Is there any research that explains why these steps of denial happen nearly formulaically?
