What exactly does op mean by "extraordinary"? Being one of the leading scientists on its topic? Introducing a sudden change in a scientific field?
In the latter case, I would say Alexander Grothendieck. Maybe also Per Martin-Löf.

If the meter and the speed of light are co-derived, why isn't c a more approachable number?

Why do ions in and around neurons diffuse down their concentration gradient when their channels open during an action potential? As in, if diffusion is a result of the random movement of the particles colliding in an enclosed space and moving freely in an open space, why do both sodium and potassium ions have independent gradients that affect their movement through the membrane? Moreover, why does anything diffuse anywhere (e.g.: an odor-perceptible cloud of particles in a room) if they would be colliding with the air molecules just as readily as they would eachother?

so /an/ is just full of "omg look at meh cute kittonz". in which case, i feel like posting here because the posters on this board at least seem more competent than on the other boards.
>you're inna woods and need a tube
>you get a log about the size of your forearm
>you want to bore it out but you only have a knife with you
how can you hollow out a cylindrical piece of wood without splitting it in half, gutting it, and putting it back together?
pic semi related. /an/ in a nutshell

What is your favorite pseudoscience?

Personally nothing makes me laugh more than astrology, and having somebody vehemently defend their assertion that it is accurate has in the past brought me to climax.

What about you?

D=(n/2)(n-3)
90=(n/2)(n-3)
2.90=n(n-3)
180=n^2-3n

n^2-3n-180=0

(n+12)(n-15)=0

n=-12 or n=15

so n=15

STOP SUCKING SO HARD.

hey /sci/ so i want to go to college and major in psychology or sociology or statistics maybe.
which of these three would be best/most interesting.
also, considering your first answer what would be the best graduate degree afterwards.
