[math]b_1(S^1) = 1[/math] so 1 side.

The entire standard model Lagrangian can be condensed down to [math]\mathcal{L} = \bar{\psi}\mathcal{D}\psi + \frac{1}{4}\int_{M}\operatorname{tr}\mathcal{F}^2[/math] plus some Higgs terms, where [math]\psi[/math] is the spinor containing all matter, [math]\mathcal{D}[/math] is the covariant derivative along the Lie algebra-valued connection one form [math]\mathcal{A} \in \Lambda^1(M) \otimes \operatorname{Lie}SU(5)[/math] and [math]\mathcal{F} = d\mathcal{A}[/math]. The reason why the usual expression for the standard model Lagrangian is so complicated is because physicists explicitly write down the components of the gauge fields and the spinors and do some weird ass Bogolyubov trasnformations that rotates the Hilbert space.

Being gay is a meme.
>be straight-acting homosexual
>be graduate student in condensed matter and part time at a gay bar
>my standards are set extremely high due to years of schooling and lifting (among other hobbies)
>literally no one of the same orientation in academia
>literally no one remotely fits any of my criteria at my part time job
>single since 2012
You can't make this shit up bros.

>Yeah there's no real connection between topology and physics.
Hilariously wrong. Topology classifies defects in spin systems and predicts phase transitions in condensed matter theory (Schwartz 1991); topology is literally the backbone of constructive quantum field theory (Baez, Segal, Zhang 2014) ; topology of the phase space of a quantum dynamical system is connected to eigenstate degeneracies (Chowdhury 2003).
Actually fact check before you spew bullshit at unsuspecting physics undergraduates.

It's the pursuit that's rewarding.

Having nowhere to go after attaining that "ultimate knowledge" is far sadder than being unable to attain it but knowing we're always able to keep at it.
