For how long do I need to immerse metal tools in boiling water to sterilise them?

Hey /sci/
I've got one that's been bugging me all day

If I know the maximum acceleration, and maximum deceleration of an object traversing a known distance between point A and point B, through a vacuum, retaining it's mass through acceleration simple Newtonian physics: is it possible to know it's travel time, maximum velocity and the like.
I think it is but my physics is too rusty to figure it out.

It's saturday, but you should still be studying for your classes like I am, get along now and do it.

Also, classes general:
Petrophysics, Organic Chem 2, Chemistry 2, Chem. 2 lab, & Analytical Methods for Chemical Engineers (Diff-eq. Took diff-eq already, but they don't like Mechanical Engineer's Diff-eq).
