>fill a plastic bag till it's half full with water
>put a piece of solid plastic inside (floats when the bag is open)
>seal the bag (leave a considerable ammount of air inside)
>squeeze the bag

What fucking happens?

I figured that it would sink, given the impulse from the increase in air pressure (since liquid water is not significantly affected by it), then float back up instantly, since neither his density, nor water's has changed.

My teacher says it will stay sunk till you stop squeezing? Why the fuck why?
