>There's actually been a few of the figureheads of the brain project that are unwilling to continue research, due to the motivations of the ones funding it.

That's interesting, explain?

Does anyone have any recommendations for learning about electricity and wireless transmission? I want to bridge these things with multiple other topics.

I (barely) understand it on a basic conceptual level, but I want something more. What is a ground, why is it needed? Why does a carrier signal work the way it does? Why do some materials respond to current by producing a magnetic field, why does copper create radio frequencies? Why does an air gap in a transformer produce the effect and how does its windings determine specific attributes, how the hell does a capacitor work?

Etc. I must understand. Right now my knowledge more or less stops at ohms. I don't understand voltage. I don't know what a watt is. I don't understand amperage. What are some good materials for this? Any recommended reading? I have a book on transformer design, but it falls apart for me when mathematics becomes involved. The options are to start at the beginning or chip away at the middle, and the latter is probably stupid and how my life thus far can be summarized.

Thanks.

I'm another poster. I'm an odd mixture of high on various stimulants and burnt, simultaneously. My empathy is quite sharpened and watching this behavior I feel embarrassed for you.

This. Always this.

I am responding because just as the insect consistently gets stuck in a window, I am also slave to my logic, and consistently get stuck in a "window" of my own. It could be argued I have a choice, yet this is what I choose every time. I am not inclined to change, therefore, the experience of an option is an illusion born of the decision making process.

Straight male here who is hoping gays will cease flooding media now that marriage is legal (doubt it). Every aspect of that argument was moronic and will only convince others of your own myopia and lacking mental faculties.

Try again.

I was quite good at math up until ~7th grade, for various reasons. Though I've retained my raw ability to calculate, for the most part, I know little beyond 6th grade level mathematics. Even basic algebra and geometry are beginning to fade. I know how to go about solving problems, and I know what is require to represent tasks mathematically, but I simply can't. I just don't know and don't have the time or presence of mind to design a system myself.

I get along fine. You'll be okay. If you're an idiot, and you know it, it is implicit you possess at least rudimentary means to address that deficit.
