Lots of people have an intuition of what math is, but I haven't had it explained to me properly. Look at a classic:

2 + 2 = 4

Where is the math? The numbers, 2 and 4, are not math. Some people say the = is math, but 4 = 4 is just true, there is nothing being done. Maybe the +, but could just rotate it 45°

2 × 2 = 4

Math is abstract, and therefore cannot be rotated, proving the + is not math. I demand answerd!

>but the idea is called "simulation theory".
Go jerk off with the Christ-tards that want to call an absurdly literal interpretation of Genesis an "alternative theory".
In SCIence, a theory is a thoroughly-tested hypothesis that's been proven (or at least not dis-proven) and fits well with other scientific knowledge.
You do the whole world a dis-favor by helping murder both the English language and the credibility of the scientific community.
I hope you step on a Lego.

>Just saying that intelligence is what we call intelligence doesn't get us any closer to having an actual workable definition.
It's a CATEGORY.
And we get to decide which mental processes go into that CATEGORY.
It's not a fucking soul or something.

>but Obama was duly elected by a majority of Americans to (among other things) to appoint a new Supreme court justice when the need arose. Despite this, the Republicans chose to exploit yet another glitchy aspect of the constitution to block him from carrying out his duty.

And let's stop moving the goalposts, shall we?

You're so disdainful of people you think population growth is arrogance?
What makes you so much better than the rest of the human race that you can judge us?
Who's arrogant now, bitch?

I heard there is p-adic Lie groups.

What are the features of those things?
Is there anything "as big" or smooth as SU(2), for example. Or are those things essentially degenerate (e.g. like finite fields, which I see as some collapsed stucture)?
