Are there any chemicals that change colour when exposed to UV light, but only when hot?
I was thinking of the idea of having transparent 3D printer filament that contains a variety of chemicals with a beam of UV light recolouring the molten filament as it pours out, and by having different chemicals react to different frequencies the colour of the filament can be controlled, allowing a multicolour or even full-colour print.
