I can only express my utmost contempt for the so called philosophers of science. Everything about them is quintessentially cringe. They describe a trivial and well-known process, yet the way they describe it shows how they failed to understand it. With unwarranted arrogance they proclaim to know more than scientists while their writing resembles the ramblings of a 5 year old child who "explains" the world to his father based on his very limited level of knowledge. Except that these philosophers are grown up adults and allegedly educated, so we'd expect more from them than only childish platitudes. Philosophy of science is trivial at best, cringeworthy and outright anti-intellectual at worst. A complete disgrace for the historical tradition of philosophy as a pursuit of deeper knowledge.

4th step doesn't work because we're assuming a-b != 0, meaning a != b, which contradicts our initial assumption.

I feel like I'm the only smart person on this board. There's no way you all this retarded, right?

Can someone help me with this percentage calculation? My brain is dont work no good.

If you had a nation with a population of 5 million and 90% of the population was white, then you added another 2 million people to the nation and 97% of that 2 million were white, what percentage of the 7 million people would be white?

About to start Actuarial Science, what am I in for? Do they really do advanced challenging maths?

Bac in Accounting isn't challenging enough and bac in maths leads me to be a teacher and requires PhD.

Broke guy. I'm finishing my first semester of Math Bacc (Canada).
I'm good at maths, 95% average in my classes.
How do I get a tutor or math corrector job (at my uni), is it even possible given I have no title? I guess I'm competing against graduates.
Any insights are appreciated.

how so? this is very typical of graduate math programs
in that time we're doing coursework and preparing for our qualifying exams, engaging in research on the side if we have time or if we come in with a master's degree already like some of my colleagues

>getting a good sleep makes you smart
If anything getting less sleep makes you smarter. Your body wants sleep, too fucking bad until we finish this problem. 5-6 hours a night is optimal, small nap afternoon is good too. Deep sleep is what matters and it is easier to enter then you are tired, that is why dreams can be so vivid when you fall asleep in class or have a nap after a long day.
