Yes, we will keep attempting to build other types of power generators, but in the end nuclear will end up being the leading source of all mankinds energy needs. The problem really is in quantity of energy.

No source of man made power even comes close to generating that of a nuclear plant. At some point in the not so distant future, it will be laughable to build a power plant that wasn't nuclear (as the energy output would be so insignifigant compared to the energy need).

What is needed is better safety systems, and shit like that. A fucking ridiculous amount of containment procedures and redundency checks. Right now, the anit-virus on your computer has a more complex system of checks and measures then a modern nuclear plant.

So, yeah, things need to change. But to think the future will be anything other then nuclear, is a lapse in critical thinking skills.
