I'd say this is the solution, this was posted in another (deleted) thread

>People perceive light in photographs in different ways. The way the light is on the picture makes it look like it could be in the shade which if it were the case would make the dress white and gold. However some people can perceive the dress as being in a bright light which would make it blue and black if it were removed from the bright light (I still can't see black though looks like it might be blue and brown/gold in that case to me). It's just a matter of light perception in pictures. Also it is blue and black. I see white and gold though.
