I figure this board is the best place to discuss this, so here I am. I've always been extremely fascinated with space, even moreso with astronomical bodies. I noticed a field on NASA's website called 'Planetary Science'. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find much information as to what that entails. I want to study planets, learn crucial information about them, and perhaps discover things through planets previously unknown or thought to be impossible.

I was wondering if anyone might have some information as to what position I should be shooting for, and what field of study I should focus on (major/minor in college). Any more information in regards to what I'm looking for would be significantly appreciated. Sorry for any trouble, and thank you in advance for any help.
