Alright bro’s I’m trying to design a realistic interplanetary warship. This assumes fusion engine with an ISP of 27000 seconds (currently listed for the VISTA engine). Second, I gave the ship a dry mass of 1000 tons. This seems reasonable I guess. With 1000 tons of propellant, we get a Delta V of 183 kilometers/second. Our vehicle can reach a max speed of 90 km/s. At 90 km/s, the warship can travel 1 AU in 19 days, or 10 AU in 200 days.

Thoughts? Should I increase or decrease the dry mass? Should the ISP go up? I’m trying some worldbuilding but I want to be accurate.

Just kidding but seriously though wtf so there’s no CQB in space? That’s super anti climactic

When will we get to start seeing space combat?

From what I understand cooling is an issue that exists with typical guns which are combustion based but can accelerators solve this?
