I dropped out and got a GED three years ago, but I've caught a huge interest in physics in the past year. MY SAT was 1590/2400 and GPA was like a 2.8. If I was to retake the SAT after studying from now until October and got something impressive like a 2200+, would good universities give me a chance or am I condemned to community college for the next two years?

Lets post good advice for university related to STEM majors only; things you wish you knew before you started. If you ask this on another board, nobody seems to know what they're talking about since all of the STEM guys are here.
