Pathetic chodelet rockets can't do this. TOTAL SX DOMINATION
>Unveiling the secrets of blue jets: SpaceX launches payload that will study electrifying phenomena above thunderstorms
>SpaceX’s CRS-28 mission to the ISS launched this past Monday included an ESA payload called Thor-Davis, whose main purpose is to study electrical activity occurring above thunderstorms. Thor-Davis will focus on studying the inception and frequency of blue jets, a recently-discovered phenomena seen above storm clouds that sends a column of blue light firing roughly 30 miles into space for a few milliseconds.
>Improving our understanding of blue jets and other upward-directed lightning events is important because they have the potential to disrupt radio waves essential for communication, influence the distribution of greenhouse gasses within Earth's ozone layer, facilitate more precise weather predictions, and aid in understanding climate change.
>The International Space Station serves as the perfect vantage point for monitoring electrical activity above thunderclouds. Unlike geosynchronous satellites, the ISS is much closer to these phenomena, and its orbital path enables world-wide coverage of storms.
