hep general: experiment edition.

it seems theorists and experimentalists at the top tiers of high-energy physics support future colliders like the FCC, the ILC, and even CEPC (even though nobody in our community outside chinese natives would move to bumblefuck firewall land regardless of how great their Nimatron turns out).

however, it seems the normies (and by extension the elected officials of democracies all over the world) got memed by Sabine and other low-IQ shillers into the idea that our very small salaries and our relatively inexpensive experiments need to be defunded, because you know, if you save 8 billion dollars over 20 years on not building the next collider then we could spend 700.04 billion dollars per year on the military instead of the very weak 700.00 billion dollars per year on the military. did normies destroy our dreams?

so, anons, sabrina graduated from harvard and is continuing on there for 3 years with guaranteed funding over that time period of $250,000. then, after that, she is going to lead a newly founded research institute, details to be released in the future, offered to her during her visit to the White House in late 2016.

being as though she is the next einstein, she deserves this. working in a patent office was obviously not the right path for einstein, he should have gotten these sorts of opportunities.

anybody wanna elaborate on asymptotic symmetries and soft modes and superrotations? i'd like to have some insight because sabrina's QFT chops and math skills are so extremely elite it blows me, and also the late Stephen Hawking, out of the water
