TL;DR Science tv shows good or bad .

Ok guys so I've heard lately that the science/medical shows (s.a. The big bang theory, Numbers, Grey's Anatomy, house etc.) are meant to introduce layman to these “otherwise unknown” subjects and hopefully lead some teenagers into majoring in science and medicine stuff.

But sometimes in order to make this shows marketable they oversimplify and minimize the real deal. So /sci/ where do you stand on this? Do you think that these tv shows take a valuable mission in spreading the intrest in science or do you think is bullshit and give the wrong impression about the science life?
