>recovering from stroke

left half of my brain was severely damaged. didn't return to normalcy until a couple weeks ago and felt like death.

was almost certain I was gonna pass away last night. i felt cold all over and body twitching

I was jogging 5miles daily this past summer. when my brain was blood clotted up and now I could hardly walk 2 blocks to beer shop without thinking about suicide

any advice?

sorry if I come across as attention seeking.

also should i visit neurologist? I visited one back in december and he was uncaring

after a certain point, higher category theory starts to feel almost geometric in nature, and everything starts to make sense
the so-called "intuitive" parts of category theory finally actually become intuitive
any sort of connection between two things immediately sets of bells in your mind
you start to feel like reality is just the macroscopic manifestation of some braided, knotted, or twisted objects
you feel like you ~are~ the categories
it's like autism except worse
but possibly the worst part is that even though you've sacrificed your humanity for mathematics, there are still people who understand it better than you

TURN BACK NOW
NEVER GET A MATH DEGREE
I HAVE EXPERIENCED HORRORS THAT NO MORTAL SHOULD ENDURE
IT WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE BEYOND RUIN
YOU WILL WISH FOR DEATH, YOU WILL TRY TO KILL YOURSELF
BUT THE DEGREE WON'T LET YOU DIE
YOU WILL TRY TO GET A JOB
BUT THE DEGREE WON'T LET YOU
YOU WILL TRY TO RELAX FOR 12 SECONDS
BUT YOU HAVE NO MONEY SO YOU BEGIN STARVING
BUT THE DEGREE WON'T LET YOU STARVE TO DEATH

I'm at the end of my engineering degree. When I was at school I got the best grades in my school year. I got As on maths and the three sciences (UKfag). The world was my oyster. But I put no thought in to both my uni choice (just picked my home town one) or subject choice ("hurrdurr engineering is just maths + science, right?").

My degree is 5 years long. Its all gone by in a blur. I remember finding it awful a few weeks in. I almost dropped out in my second year. After 3.5 years I had basically had enough. I barely revised for my middle of the year exams but I did well because of my work in the term.

After the that was my bachelor's thesis. I think I did close to nothing for about 2.5 to 3 months and then wrote any old shit in a short space of time. My degree was frankly too easy before that. It felt completely unprepared for doing research level stuff. To add insult to dumbness, my topic was within a theoretical area where all the papers are by physicists! It really underlines the pointlessness of engineering degrees. Neither the rigour of physics or the practicality of computer science. It was at this time that I realised that my brain was hollow shit and I would never amount to anything academically.
