Whats the best book for basic/college algebra ? I’m educating my nephew but the little fellow is a fast learner, but I want him to deepen his understanding and applications before continuing to calculus. I was thinking perhaps Lang’s algebra is a little too much. I’m kind of proud of the little guy, he’s 8 years old.

It:
- abates negative effects by creating only positive numbers
- exacerbates effects as the value increases
- it denotes a number multiplying the same number
- analyzing it with visual methods I capture what non-linear relations are

My real question is: - where do I find it in real life/examples ? I’m kind of sleepy but could you help me unveil this ? I feel I can’t grasp the totality of its use, where is it in real life this squared number, rise/run variations ?
