Can someone link me to a really good explanation of implicit differentiation?

I've had people tell me that y acts like a function, and that people are "multiplying by [math]\frac{dy}{dx}[/math] " , and that its somehow a version of the chain rule, and also they use a circle as an example of a function, which doesn't pass the "only one y value per x value" test of being a function. Its quite confusing. Also if someone could show me an application of this it may be helpful.

Math bff just shows me how to solve the problem, and really doesn't explain whats happening that well.

Sorry if laytecks got messed up, i'm new.
