IQ is a good indicator of how proficient you are at problem solving tasks valued in modern society. There's a strong correlation between IQ and and logical reasoning. That's why high IQ is beneficial for STEM and why you find people with high IQ here. Still someone with a degree in a STEM field earns less than a carpenter in Sweden...
